Why we do this

Booking a court is still surprisingly hard. You call a reception desk that picks up between six and eight, learn that Tuesday is full, and arrange the next slot over messages. Some places have an online calendar, but you pay on site, so when you do not show up the club lost money and you never found out.

Yet it is a simple task. The club knows which courts are free and for how much. The player knows when they have time. The rest is software.

Where we are now

The app works. You can browse clubs and their prices, pick a slot, pay by card and get a confirmation. Clubs use it to manage courts, prices, opening hours, members and coaches.

What we do not have yet is a dense network of clubs. We are at the start and approach clubs one by one, first where players tell us they want them. So it may well be that you do not find one in your city yet. We would rather say so up front than have you find out after signing up.

What we stand behind

The club sets the court price and that is exactly what you pay. We add nothing to the amount you see for the slot. Payments go through Stripe, so your card number never passes through our servers, and we keep the data in the European Union under GDPR.

Each club sets its own cancellation terms and you see them before you pay. If they entitle you to a refund, we send it back automatically.

Where this is going

We want every larger city to have at least one club where you can sort out a slot from your phone in a minute. That comes from adding clubs, not features, so most of our work right now happens away from the screen.

If you run a club, have a look at Raqueta for clubs. If you are a player and your club is missing, tell us on the home page or write straight to hello@raqueta.app.
